Tonkawa, OK (2/4/2004) - Digital-Tutors (DT), a service of PL Studios, Inc., has just released "The Backwater Bunch Module 2", the newest video-based training kit for advanced 3D modeling.  Each kit specializes in different progressions of the production pipeline, from storyboarding to post-production, and everything in between.

Module 2 thoroughly covers the use of Maya's powerful Polygon and NURBS tools to create a Backwater Bunch animated character named Bubba, his fish tank, and his cute little partner, Buddy. Every step is covered and documented in an incredible two (2) CD set with over 5 hours of extensive training. "This kit has 40 tutorials that are geared for the person who wants to leapfrog their training to the next level," says Papa Georgio, director of the DT curriculum and research team.

Digital-Tutors created "The Backwater Bunch" training series to be centered on a large-scale project from concept to final production.  "Traditional training materials are often based upon smaller projects that are mostly rewrites of software manuals that only utilize commonly used tools and methods. However, The Backwater Bunch training kits are based on a complete animated production.  This gives us the ability to share our skills, knowledge, and experience to train all levels of animators (from beginner to intermediate, to advanced) the ins and outs of a real 3D production pipeline," says Papa.

Digital-Tutors (DT) maintains a Telly award winning, video-based web site that offers free on-line training in animation, visual effects, motion graphics, as well as web design. DT’s training covers various industry
standard software are applications such as: Adobe Photoshop, ImageReady, Macromedia Dreamweaver MX, Flash MX, Fireworks MX, and Microsoft Frontpage for graphic and web design; Adobe After Effects for motion graphics and visual effects; and Alias’ Maya for 3d modeling, animation, dynamics, rendering, fluids, cloth and fur.
